Since 1997, tens of thousands of Moroccans have improved their lives and those of their families through the Moroccan – American partnership in micro-finance.  With the establishment of a legal framework and with technical assistance and financial support to micro-finance institutions such as al Amana, Zakoura, INMAA, and Karama, micro-credit has been able to create employment and harness and support the entrepreneurial spirit of the Moroccan people, especially in rural and underserved areas.
