Moroccan - American partnership has improved the lives of farmers throughout the country.  In the 1960’s the American people provided financing equivalent to $215 million to build dams and irrigation systems in the Oriental region. More than 70,000 hectares of semi-arid land were irrigated, agricultural productivity increased and more than 50,000 nomads were able to settle.  This partnership is still working for their children, providing the water they drink and use for the crops they grow.
