Complex logistics for food aid to Darfur – The provision of food commodities, delivery to the country in need, and distribution to beneficiaries is complex process. USAID is the largest donor of food assistance to Darfur, and with a turn-around time of 14 days, from initial discussions with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to vessel loading, this contribution is one of the quickest in USAID history.
