Labuje Camp for IDPs
Labuje camp is one of 18 camps for IDPs in Kitgum district and is home to 14,188 people. The camp was established in August 2003 after the anti-government rebels threatened massive attacks on the residents of nearby villages. As a result, almost the entire population of these villages fled to the relative safety of Labuje Community Center on the outskirts of Kitgum town.
