Knowledge Services
USAID Knowledge Services provides resources to USAID and development partners to
improve program and project performance by promoting best practices and lessons
learned, enriching collaborative partnerships and, facilitating informed decisions through research and information sharing.
Knowledge Services is comprised of
Development Experience Clearinghouse (DEC) is the largest online resource for USAID funded technical and program documentation, with over 62,000 documents available for
electronic download. Search the Development Experience System (DEXS) online
database for
- Accessing Agency-funded technical and program-related documents,
- Downloading USAID documents in PDF format for free
Sign up for DEC Express, a bi-weekly e-publication that lists recently acquired
documents.
Knowledge Management Services supports USAID’s Knowledge Management agenda
by
- Moving USAID from a "need to know" to a "need to share" culture
- Helping USAID staff think through their knowledge management needs at two
different levels-- Agency-wide KM and unit-specific KM
- Emphasizing the interaction among people, process, and technology
Library and Reference Services’ primary mission is to serve the information needs of USAID staff by
- Offering a broad range of electronic resources
- Providing access to the USAID Library’s print collection of 14,000 books and 180 journals covering all of the sectors and regions in which the
Agency works through the Library catalog
The library is open to USAID staff, contractors/grantees, and implementing partners.
Members of the public may visit by appointment and may use materials in the library
only. Please call 202-712-0579 or email us to arrange an appointment. The library is
located on the mezzanine level of the Ronald Reagan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave.,
N.W., behind the glass door marked USAID Information Center. It is open from 9am to
4:30pm Monday through Friday, except federal holidays.
Those without borrowing privileges may borrow library materials through their local library.
