| Garment Sector Gathers at USAID-supported Conference to Map Futrue |

USAID supported a conference on the future of the Cambodian garment industry that drew members of the private sector, unions and the government. The conference took place on Friday, June 12, at the Sunway Hotel in Phnom Penh.

| USAID Donates Life-Saving Medical Equipment |

USAID provided close to $500,000 worth of medical equipment to Phnom Penh’s Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE this week. The 85 pieces of equipment will support the life-saving treatment and diagnosis of patients, including the 3,000 HIV-positive patients under the hospital’s care.

Teams from seven Cambodian law schools competed for the honor of national champion at the Third Annual Cambodian Mock Trial Competition on May 27-29. The team from Paññāsāstra University won the event, which was sponsored by USAID.
During the competition, student teams played the roles of attorneys and witnesses in a civil case involving a fictitious dispute between a buyer and seller of land (Full text)

USAID helped organize activities for Cambodia’s fifth, and so far largest, annual Gay Pride Week on May 12-17.
