U.S. Provides Assistance for Flood Relief

New Delhi, U.S. Ambassador to India Robert D. Blackwill today donated $25,000 to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund as a humanitarian gesture to assist the Indian Government in meeting some of the immediate needs of the victims affected by the recent floods in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. These funds are provided through the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance at the U.S. Agency for International Development.
The Ambassador conveyed, on behalf of President Bush and the American people, sincere concern and sympathy for all those affected by the floods.
