U.S., India Investors Meet on Green Business

NEW DELHI –The United States Agency for International Development, the Confederation of Indian Industry – Green Business Center and the World Resources Institute will open the 2007 New Ventures India Investor Forum on Friday, November 16, 2007 at 10 a.m. in Mumbai at the Hotel Taj Lands End. The forum’s focus is to connect international investors with socially and environmentally innovative Indian businesses.
International venture capital groups and Indian financial institutions will learn about investment opportunities from a select group of entrepreneurs that are showcasing their business plans at the forum in renewable energy, green building, recycle and reuse technologies, and organic products. Entrepreneurs selected by the New Ventures program have received training in developing business plans and engaging with investors.
New Ventures India works to develop sustainable enterprise growth by linking small and medium businesses with investors. The U.S. Government provides support to New Ventures India under USAID’s Global Development Alliance, bringing together private and public sector players to further development goals.
