45th Anniversary
In 1961, President John F.Kennedy created the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and that same year USAID established its bilateral assistance in Honduras. In 2006 USAID celebrated 45 years of continual support to Honduras. USAID/Honduras made a series of newspaper publications to commemorate this milestone.
In the 45th anniversary publications, USAID recognizes some of the many achievements in the areas of education, agriculture, water, and health, with special recognition to water and sanitation projects. These achievements have been possible due to the combined efforts of USAID, the Honduran people, and the Government of Honduras.
We list some of our successes over the last 45 years, knowing that thousands of Honduran men and women, through their efforts and dedication, have benefited from programs financed by USAID.
