RFA for Food Assistance Program in Malawi
The U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Food for Peace (USAID/FFP) anticipates that funds and commodities will be available for development food assistance programming in Malawi in fiscal year (FY) 2014. The total anticipated FFP funding is $90 million over a five-year period to support two awards, subject to the availability of funds and commodities.
The programs are designed to improve food access and incomes through agriculture and other livelihoods initiatives; enhance natural resource and environment management; combat under nutrition; especially for children under two and pregnant and lactating women; and mitigate disaster impact through early warning and community preparedness activities. They are increasingly associated with USAID’s efforts to promote resilience among populations facing chronic poverty and recurrent crises, and FFP continues to play an important role in the development and implementation of USAID’s resilience policy.
Interested applicants should follow the instructions outlined in the Request for Applications (RFA). In order to ensure procurement integrity during the solicitation process, the USAID/Malawi Mission will be unable to meet with interested parties to discuss programmatic approaches or potential implementation.
