Ambassadors Girls' Scholarship Program (AGSP)
A Star is Born

"Thanks to my scholarship, I am very happy to go to school. Some day I am going to become a doctor, because we have no doctor here."

Lea Bergui, an AGSP star

Three years ago, a very sad girl struggled to stay in school. Lea Bergui remembers her embarrassment: "I was very shy because of my ripped uniform," she said. "And I was always hungry, never having anything to eat at school. My father left my mother and we are very poor." Then, Lea became an AGSP scholar. She received a new uniform, school supplies and lunch every day. "Now I can study hard!" she said. And she has. This year, Lea took three tests. In the first, she came fifth in a class of 67 students. In the second she came third, and in the most recent test, Lea placed first of the class.
