Meting with Chairman of Parliament
Administrator met Chairman of Parliament Oktay Asadov to underscore the importance of strengthening the legislative branch as a co-equal branch of government, its role in the constructive oversight of the executive branch, and its importance to Azerbaijan’s long-term democratic stability.
Award certificates will be presented to a group of more than 30 MPAs out of 105 MPAs who successfully completed a series of USAID-supported Parliamentary Program in Azerbaijan (PPA) trainings held throughout the prior twelve months.
Through USAID’s Parliamentary Program, USAID, its partner DAI, the Milli Mejlis Office’s State Service and Human Relations Department staff and prominent local and international experts presented PPA training that addressed many essential areas of the MPAs’ daily work. Topics included local laws and regulations affecting Parliament and MP activities, the role of the MPA in identifying and linking constituency issues, public policy, media relations, and international considerations.
MPAs play a crucial role in helping MPs communicate with their constituencies and in addressing local and national problems and issues. MPAs who participated in the previous training sessions, are now participating in PPA trainings related to in-depth elaboration of public policy analysis issues.
