2007 First Quarter Report: Public Outreach

On February 16, 2007 the Office of Public Diplomacy hosted a brief for the Lebanese American Renaissance Partnership. The goal of the meeting was to update the group on USAID programs while also encouraging Lebanese Americans to be more active in the reconstruction efforts in Lebanon.

On March 23, 2007 Al-Hurra Television aired an interview with the Director of Public Diplomacy at USAID about the development work that USAID is leading in the Broader Middle East with emphasis on Egypt and West Bank / Gaza.

On March 24, 2007 at the University of California in San Diego (UCSG) the Lebanese Campus Link hosted its second annual convention and a USAID representative was one of the key note speakers. Local Channels 8 and 9 interviewed Mr. Maalouf about USAID efforts in the Broader Middle East and North Africa.

On March 29, 2007 the Harvard Business School, in partnership with the Middle East and North Africa Club, hosted a presentation by Mr. Maalouf. The focus of the presentations was an overview of USAID.
