Mainstreaming Inclusiveness for Disabled Workers and Youth (MIDWAY)

DPO Partners: Center for Independent Living in Serbia, Center for Interactive Pedagogy and Initiative for Inclusion “VelikiMali”

Amount: $299,920

In Serbia, Catholic Relief Service (CRS) in partnership with the Center for Independent Living, Center for Interactive Pedagogy, the Faculty for Special Education and Rehabilitation (FASPER) and VelikiMali are conducting a program to promote the inclusion of disabled workers and youth in society. The program also works to ensure that people with disabilities have full access to educational and employment opportunities. Specifically the program is

  • developing a plan of action to increase employment opportunities
  • establishing job fairs and links with public- and private-sector employers
  • training parents in disability rights and advocacy
  • providing small grants in advocacy
  • conducting awareness raising opportunities
