Promoting the Right to Education for Disabled People for their Inclusion in the Malagasy Educational System

In Madagascar, USAID supports the Sembana Mijoro Center, an organization run by people with disabilities.
The program seeks to:
- provide information about the rights and the needs of children with disabilities in relation to education
- assess the integration of children with disabilities into school and identify potential barriers to their participation
- build the public's awareness of local and national authorities and educators on inclusive education programs
- build the advocacy capacities of associations working with people with disabilities and education
The program has also established a unit in the Sembana Mijoro Center to provide guidance on disability awareness and
inclusion for disability associations on education for children with disabilities.
