Towards Inclusive Development in Lebanon

Implementing Partners: Mercy Corps

DPO Partners: Youth Association of the Blind, Lebanese Physically Handicapped Union

Funding Period: October 2008- March 2010

Funding Amount: $299,556

Mercy Corps, in partnership with the Youth Association for the Blind in Lebanon and the Lebanese Physically Handicapped Union, works to increase the inclusion of persons with disabilities in Lebanon’s social and economic development.

The three key objectives of the program are to

  1. increase the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the operations and programs of USAID-funded development organizations
  2. reduce barriers to employment for persons with disabilities through training and work experience in international and national development organizations
  3. increase the inclusion of people with disabilities in USAID Lebanon’s program strategy, design, and implementation
