Active Participation of Internally Displaced People with Disabilities in the Process of Socioeconomic Stabilization of Their Families

Funding Period: November 2008 - April 2010

Amount: $300,000

CHF International, in partnership with a network of DPOs and service providers, is working to provide socioeconomic stabilization and promote the active participation of internally displaced people (IDP) with disabilities and their families in society.

Specifically, the program works to

  • Facilitate access to local health and social institutions for IDPs with disabilities
  • Offer income-generation opportunities through vocational training and job placement services
  • Strengthen communication and socialization channels for sharing best practices between fifteen organizations working in the area of disability and five DPOs in Bogotá
  • Establish a cooperative model for the attention of IDP who are also disabled
