What's New at ACVFA

New Working Groups: Request for Input
The ACVFA has created new working groups to focus on two of the foreign assistance framework priority objectives: "humanitarian assistance" and "investing in people."

The working groups will be preparing draft recommendations for the ACVFA's public meeting on October 24 at the National Press Club. The public is welcome to provide input into the drafting process. The drafts will be posted in October, prior to the meeting. Click here to provide input.

The ACVFA has also finalized its recommendations for three areas whose work began earlier this year: economic growth, governing justly and democratically, and implementation mechanisms. You may review their recommendations via the following links:

The Center for International Private Enterprise and the Afghanistan International Chamber of Commerce worked with local businesspeople in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan to open a regional chamber of commerce.  The Governor of Uruzgan Province Abdul Hakim Monib (left) and Dr. Alam Hamdard of the Afghanistan International Chamber of Commerce officially opened the Uruzgan Chamber during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 23, 2006.
