Mental wellbeing is critical to successful HIV treatment, yet, people being treated for HIV are also at elevated risk of mental health issues. USAID and Lighthouse, a Vietnamese social enterprise providing both mental health and HIV services for at-risk populations, are training a cadre of peer educators to deliver integrated HIV support at the community level, including most recently, 28 peer educators from Hanoi and Quang Ninh.

Service integration and the use of peers to educate at-risk populations on both HIV and mental health advances HIV epidemic control efforts.
