The open burning of solid waste and agricultural by-products is one of the main sources of air pollution in Hanoi and neighboring provinces. USAID supported the installation of 30 sensors around Hanoi and Hai Duong to monitor and report real time air-quality data.

Air quality monitoring is essential for identifying air pollution hotspots and USAID’s support enhances the public's awareness, promoting air quality control and preventing open burning.
