Inclusive Economic Engagement is a five-year activity designed to empower women- and minority-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME). The activity will increase economic opportunities, resiliency, and integration of targeted MSMEs into Kosovo’s economy, fostering a more inclusive private sector. This activity contributes to USAID’s overall goal of increasing opportunities for inclusive democratic and economic participation.
Activities
- Improve the economic opportunities and resilience of women- and minority-owned MSMEs by awarding grants for equipment and technical assistance to increase operational efficiencies.
- Facilitate participation in and integration of women- and minority-owned MSMEs into local and regional markets through market linkages, including networking and business-to-business events.
- Create sustainable business partnerships and networks among women- and minority-owned MSMEs, integrating these MSMEs into value chains with more established businesses.
Expected Results
- Increase business acumen of up to 250 minority and women entrepreneurs through grants and technical assistance.
- Up to 500 new jobs created by businesses that receive assistance from the activity.
- An average of 20% annual increase in sales of MSMEs that receive support from the activity.
- At least 2,000 persons attend USAID supported events and activities.
- At least 200 businesses supported through B2B events and market linkage activities.
- Up to 250 businesses join sectoral associations and business chambers.
- Up to 60 businesses trained on franchising and up to five franchise models piloted by women- and minority-owned businesses.
