Chumreap Sour! Hello!  My name is Veena Reddy, and I am the Mission Director for USAID/Cambodia.

I am pleased to join today’s “Scale up! Cambodia” online panel discussion. I am particularly happy to see the familiar faces of the women in tech whom I had an opportunity to meet around this time last year. It was inspiring to hear your stories and I look forward to our discussion today.

This year the U.S. Embassy continues to celebrate the ties that bind the United States and Cambodia in a campaign we are calling AmCam21. During this second quarter we focus on the Principles and Values that bring us together. I can’t think of a better reflection of these principles and values than our shared support to women.

Our Women Entrepreneurs Act project underlines the US government’s prioritization of support to Cambodia’s young and female entrepreneurs. I am delighted to have participated in several WE Act events around the country since its commencement in 2018. I am particularly happy that we can work together virtually to organize this event, despite these difficult times. Thank you to our entire WE Act team.

I would like to thank the Asia Foundation for their support to the Women in Tek network. I am very happy that our partnership has been so fruitful and so supportive of young women in technology.

Most of all my thanks to you, the participants, who are joining this morning’s online discussion. I look forward to hearing about the journeys that our young women in tech have made.

Thank you! Orkun Chroeun!
